hey so two things with this scene that i’m really just pointing out because i haven’t seen anyone else say them outright
marinette was touching adrien’s rings when she told him to be himself. that’s technically a command. it’s definitely not something she did on purpose, but it speaks volumes that when marinette is the one with the power to command adrien, she just tells him to be himself. and because it’s a command, he feels it deeply, which is why he startles a little before he makes that face
this is marriage symbolism. she put the rings on his ring finger on the left hand. and i think they’re both aware of that within the context of the scene, especially adrien, also known as Guy Who Almost Bought Marinette A Ring That One Time. also they are literally under an altar and they kiss right afterwards (as in “you may now kiss the bride”) so i have an inkling that the staff of the show were really trying to hammer this one in
just a reminder to those of us who struggle with numbers on AO3; who see fics with startling hits, kudos, and especially comments— to those of us who see popular fans online and compare ourselves to their numbers and wonder why we aren’t like them:

it’s okay not to have wild numbers on your ao3. it’s normal. it’s standard. writing and posting on ao3 is a quiet, lonely thing sometimes.

take care of yourself. your works are wonderful, and they deserve recognition, but don’t hurt yourself trying to achieve a goal that might be hurting you more than helping you grow. please don’t burn yourself up trying to catch a star.

so maybe “equal” means something different to astruc than it does to people in fandom. to him, it seems to mean an overall balance. that they’re complementary but not the same.

Now I'm curious about your original Blissful Ignorance AU vision. I'm assuming the heroes managed to take all Miraculouses away from Monarch. Did they let him get away and continue his life as Gabriel Agreste? Or maybe "Dad, why are you in jail?" / "Tax evasion." (and the trio are frantically hiding newspapers and such from Adrien)
My AU is very good and you are excellent for asking about it - Ladybug and Hawkmoth figure out each others identities, Ladybug wins, she takes the butterfly and lets Gabe go but he has to promise to be good or they’ll tell Adrien his dad was a supervillain terrorist. Checkmate.
